Esther 4:14 “For if you remain silent at this time, __*relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place,_*_ but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this?””
These are part of the words of Mordechai to Queen Esther who seemed reluctant to help him and other Jews from a life threatening situation. “We are not desperate for your help,” says Mordechai. “While we believe God made you queen so that at such a time you save us, our focus is not on you but on the one who saves us and gave you that assignment. If you don’t help us…we are not desperate, in fact we pity you, because you will be punished for not helping us and we will still be saved.”
We are not desperate for anyone’s help. If God is the Savior, we can’t be desperate for human help. If God appoints someone to help us and they refuse…He will punish them and still save us using other means. God is not desperate and we His people are not!
Let nobody make us feel like without them we are doomed. Someone maybe best placed to help…but if they don’t…we pity them because their punishment is coming…we are not desperate.
The threats may be real. The best placed helper may be reluctant or using the opportunity to intimidate… But since our eyes are on God who placed them to help us…We cannot be desperate. The word is very clear… *help will come from elsewhere!*
The dangers and risks are real today…but in the name of Jesus! We are not desperate!
