Save Me From Choking!

Luke 8:14 “The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature.”

Dear LORD, save me from choking. Choking is when obstruction of airway causes difficulty in breathing.  Save me from choking.

Choking is when edible stuff intended for the food way ends up in the airway. So many good things have gotten in the wrong way. Things that were to be secondary have become primary and are choking me. Instead of seeking first the kingdom of God,  I am worrying about life, pursuing riches and pleasures first. Now am choking. Save me from choking!

When minors become majors and majors become minors…we choke. I am choking dear God!

Choking is uncomfortable. When worry about life takes precedence… I choke… I can’t sleep. When I pursue riches and pleasures… I can’t have enough…that unsatisfactory life becomes unfulfilling and i choke. Achievements leave me hungrier, thirstier and empty…i choke! Save me from choking!

Choking is a desperate situation and requires urgent attention or else it leads to death. LORD save me from choking. I work hard and achieve less. I achieve but am not satisfied. I get but I crave more. I am afraid of being overtaken and I live in fear of losing. This stress is making me sickly…am not at peace…am on medication… and now I fear for my life…i am choking! Save me from choking.

Anyone choking is a very busy person. Busy in relationships, busy at work, busy in business,  busy in parenting, busy leading a healthful life, busy with studies, busy in anything and everything! Busy but unsatisfied and worried. Busy without peace of mind. Busy has become our distraction from reality of our choking.

Father God we are secretly choking…our lives hardly make sense…save us from choking…save us from unsatisfactory activities of life…Save us from choking, in Jesus name. Amen!
